The exceptional value is primarily due to the oversupply of quality accommodation in Berlin, albeit, this is up there with the best. When one considers location, one must remember that Berlin is a city which covers eight times the area of Paris, travel is an essentiality. Having said this, under the shadow of the famous Television tower Lux-11 sits on the fringe of what has become an extremely fashionable and chic district. Rooms are comfortable with open plan design, which fortunately doesn't extend to the toilet, although a degree of familiarity with one's travelling companion is preferable due to the rather unfavorable acoustics of such (apologies). The superb restaurant 'shiro i shiro' which doubles as the hotels breakfast room is considered to be amongst the city's top culinary destinations.

Whilst standard rooms (studios) are smart,  modern and functional, the suites are at an alltogether different level, representing remarkable value for which it is worth stretching oneself to obtain. Service is professional and courteous, the underlying ambience somewhat corporate, appropriate given the predominant business clientele who frequent this hotel, many on extended stay. Lacking the youthfulness of the Lux-11, the Mandala is somewhat better attune to a more mature, possibly more conservative yet no less discerning individualistic clientele. Due to the Mandala's admittedly justified reputation, room availability can be greatly limited. It is advisable to book well in advance to ensure availability. The hotels restaurant is considered one of the best in Berlin, maintaining one Michelin Star.
