Review - An exceptionally smart modern hotel presented with a minimalist approach to design. Ideally suited to the business traveller the location is not central, being situated in one of Zurich's trendier suburbs. Rooms are modern and stylish, bathed in soft natural light and set around a lovely birch tree courtyard. The hotel is notable for its fine restaurant and cigar bar offering a civilised escape at the end of a productive day. Hotel staff are efficient and attentive and the underlying atmosphere is one of professionalism and quality.

Review - Sister hotel to the Seehof, the Rössli is one of the most sought after hotels to be found in the centre of Zurich. Location is excellent, in proximity to some of Zurich's most vibrant restaurants, bars and clubs. Presentation is both stylish and charming, the private rooftop terrace and bar contributing significantly to its great appeal. Admittedly, the rooms are not as spacious as most, however they are impeccably decorated and sufficiently comfortable for a two or three night stay. Occupying an historic building, the Rössli's modern furnishings and atmosphere of sophistication are key to its attracting a youthful, attractive and discerning clientele.

Review - Recently staying at the Seehof I had the pleasure of breakfasting with two Belgium bankers, a uranium commodities dealer, an Australian organic food importer and a Spanish model - such is the diversity of clientele that continue to be attracted to the simplistic efficiency of this hotel. Encompassing a design strategy of less is more, this hotel is ultimately successful in offering comfortable, impeccably clean accommodation void of any distinct natural charm. It is not a hotel to linger within, rather a comfortable repose for the night. Conveniently located within walking distance to most attractions and at the doorstep of the Opera house.

Yet charming this hotel most certainly is and the location quite superb. The appeal is definitely aimed toward more mature tastes and those wanting to enjoy a little of Zurich's quintessential charm. Floral decorations aside, what you will experience is a welcoming atmosphere, quality service and comfortable accommodation. The candlelit breakfast accompanied to classical music is a delight.

Review - Situated within a former silk weaver's workshop and store dating prior to 1576, the Florhof is a pleasant hotel located on the outer edge of the old town in a quiet and leafy area. Some fifteen minutes walk from the Bahnhofstrasse, it is however a little removed from the action. Rooms are clean and comfortably appointed, albeit on the smaller side. Surprisingly, this hotel has obtained a great deal of exposure amongst the major travel brochures, which in itself should be a deterrent - an indication of its moderated appeal for the masses. And yet it remains worth recommending, particularly so for a 45 to 50 plus clientele. Quiet, comfortable, civilised - yawn.

Review - Not ideally central to the cities main attractions, the location of this hotel is but a ten minute stroll to the Bahnhofstrasse and is within close proximity to some of Zurich's more fashionable restaurants and bars.. The upside being its proximity to the lake, its promenades and beaches which are positively vibrant throughout the summer months. Service is professional and accommodating, rooms comfortably appointed and of a decent size - be sure to ask for a lake view. The hotel imparts a degree of elegance, design drawing inspiration from Art Deco influences. The Bellerive Bar is renowned as a meeting spot for the local intellectuals. This is a very pleasant hotel that was possibly in its day one of the finest in Zurich. Although the charm has faded somewhat, the hospitality continues to impress.

Review - As is sure to be pointed out, this is the only hotel located directly on the Limmat River, a rarity the privilege for which you will pay handsomely. As is often with hotels of this type, the distinction between 'classic' and 'old' can become blurred, undeniable in this case its the later. This 1980's cruise ship of a hotel is comfortable and refined and magnificently central in a city where centrality is somewhat of an irrelevance. Service is of course professional and the river side views quite exceptional, provided the obligatory construction cranes are out of sight - they wont be. One can't help but get the feeling that this hotel was designed for the package tour, despite its exorbitant prices. And yet despite such criticism this is still clearly amongst the better hotels in Zurich.

Per chance you were born prior to 1950, you will find the level of luxury and sophistication greatly appreciated and adequate for your, shall we say, more mature needs. Catering obviously to its intended clientele, it is to be expected that this is not the most vibrant of hotels. Service will be exceptional, opulence and grandeur aplenty, but this is high end, efficiency over friendliness.  Somewhat true of Zurich as a whole, for many such atmosphere can be a little cold. Your stay will be comfortable, your requirements serviced, memories unremarkable and your bank account diminished.

Little needs to be said as pertains to the high standards of service, the level of comfort and the quality of fit-out - all is as would be expected within this price bracket and you will not be disappointed. The hotel lobby, bar and restaurants are of exceptional quality, priced accordingly of course, and are a destination for locals as well as visitors to the city. Which is just as well, as despite being situated within the very smart banking district of Zurich, the area can be a little dull at night. The rooms are exceptionally spacious, luxuriously equipped and the hotel imparts an atmosphere and ambiance of high end sophistication. Entrepreneurs, fashion industry personalities, television celebrities and professional jetsetters are representative of the general clientele.
